A) Compulsory Papers:

Paper I - Foundation and Development of Education in Independent India.
Paper II - Psychology of Learning & Instruction.
Paper III - Educational Management

B) Pedogogical Study of School Subject ( Papers IV & V )

i) Bengali ii) English iii) Sanskrit iv) Mathematics v) Physical Science vi) LIfe Science vii) History viii Geography ix) Logic x) Work Education xi) Education xii) Phycal Education xiii) Eco-ivies.

Students will have to chose two School Subjects from the above mentioned subjects.
The following combination of subjects are allowed:

i) Bengali & History ii) Bengali & Sanskrit iii) Bengali & English iv) Bengali & Logic
v) Bengali & Geography vi) English & Geography vii) English & Logic
viii) English & History ix) English & Sanskrit x) Mathematics & Physical Sc.
xi) Physical Sc. & LIfe Science xii) Mathematics & Life Science
xiii) History & Geography xiv) History & Logic
xv) History & Sanskrit xvi) Life Science & English xvii) Geography & Mathematics
xviii) Work Education & L.Sc./Beng./Eng./History/Logic.

The students who have not the above mentioned subjects in graduation level, (except work education) are not eligible for admision.
(Commerce Students need not apply)

C) Compulsory Elective (Paper - VI)

Each candidate will select one of the following subjects

i) Guidance & Counselling ii) Education of Children with special Needs.
iii) Measurement & Evaluation in Education. (Commpulsory for B.Sc. (Hons.) or M.Sc. in Physics, (Chem. & Math.)
iv) Education of Women in India. v) Education in Ancient, Mediavel & British India (Compulsory for M.A. or B.A. (Hons.) in History students vi) Educational Technology.

A students in therefore required to study all the three Compulsory subjects under the head (a) Two method of teaching subjects under the head (b) and one Compulsory elective subject under head.
